Conference helps showcase impact of third sector in Dumfries and Galloway

A full-day conference for the third sector has showcased its scale in Dumfries and Galloway.

Almost 100 representatives from charities and community groups across the region came together at the event this month hosted by Third Sector Dumfries and Galloway.

Build Innovate Sustain was centred around community health and wellbeing and highlighted its impact in this and other areas.

The conference offered a full day of speakers, workshops, discussion forums, a marketplace, networking opportunities and taster and interactive sessions to support capacity building and upskilling within the third sector.

Organisations were given a space to come together and network while exploring the possibilities and understand the impact of their work on the community.

Event chair was DJ McDowall, Creative Director of The Imaginarium, with keynote speaker Ailsa Mackay, manager of the National Centre for Resilience.

Ailsa said: “The strength of our work lies not just in the services we provide, but in our collective resilience and our ability to innovate. Build Innovate Sustain was a chance to celebrate our impact and call our colleagues to action—because together, we will build a more resilient future for our communities.”
